New story in Bourbon Penn

May 15, 2013

I’ve got a new story out in the lovely Bourbon Penn. It’s called “Caretaker,” and, oddly enough, it’s about a woman who works as a caretaker for a cemetery. I mean, I guess it happens to be the only cemetery in the world and it’s so big she can’t see the walls…

Head over to Bourbon Penn and read “Caretaker,” then check out the rest of the wonderful stories in this issue. You can also pick up a copy of the issue for Kindle, or buy it as a printed object.

New Story: Supranow

May 6, 2013

Some days you build a world, some days a world builds you. Wait, what?

Nevermind. Check out “SupraNow,” a sci-fi bit in which I shamelessly plug a Sony product that doesn’t exist yet.

Thanks to the folks at Dr. Hurley’s Snake-Oil Cure for giving this piece a home.

“Things That Live and Seek” in Bartleby Snopes Magazine

January 24, 2013

My short story about the boy who’s only read part of Moby Dick is now available in Bartleby Snopes Issue 9. It’s accompanied by a photograph from Daniel J Glendening, who you may remember from UFOs and Their Spiritual Mission and “Wreck.” He’s awesome, and I love the piece he contributed to Snopes.

The magazine is available as both a free PDF download, and in print (on demand). If you’ve got the spare change, I encourage you to support the magazine. Don’t worry, I won’t get any of your money.

New! Short Story! Bartleby Snopes! Moby Dick! Read!

December 20, 2012

No, the Moby Dick without Barry Bostwick.

This week I have a Moby Dick inspired short story out in Bartleby Snopes. I don’t want to give away the ending, so you should go read “Things That Live and Seek” for yourself. Then read the rest of the awesome work featured on the site. And don’t forget to head back at the end of the month to vote for “Story of the Month.”

You don’t have to vote for me, but you could.

Win “UFOs and Their Spiritual Mission” from Social Malpractice Press

June 14, 2012

Skyrim + Brutalist Architecture = an Art

So I wrote a story for a book, a book full of art by Daniel J. Glendening. I know the title promises UFOs, but they’re sort of metaphorical UFOs. If, however, you’re interested in how video games and art intersect in a space that’s not actually a video game, and is, instead, sort of papery, you should check this book out.

Social Malpractice, the lovely press responsible for publishing UFOs and Their Spiritual Mission, is hosting a giveaway.  Go try and win.

More news to come.

New Story Out!

February 18, 2012

HOUSEFIRE was kind enough to publish my response to their February prompt, “We Went Missing in the Summer.” Check it out, it’s awesome, I promise!

As a bonus, here’s their bio for me. I think it captures me perfectly.

WILL KAUFMAN is the lime green helicopter that is circling your neighborhood, sprinkling glitter all over everyone and everything. Nobody knows who is flying the machine or why they are doing what they are doing. Some people think it’s the government. Some people think it has something to do with chemtrails. Everybody agrees that it will be a bitch to clean up.

November 3, 2010

M-Brane SF has their first print quarterly available for purchase on Amazon right now for the bargain price of $11.95.  You should buy it because I’m in it it’s important to support small publications.  But I am in it, or my story “Cooper and the Satellite” is.  I don’t think I’d fit.

If you’re too cheap need to save money for your nose job hamster’s mastectomy, you can buy the pdf version of issue 20 (the one with my story) from the website for $2.
